Johan Rasmussen and Naja Thomsen Hospitalized After Jet Ski Collision on Lake Cypress Springs

Franklin County, TX (October 17, 2024) – On Thursday, three teens sustained injuries in a jet ski collision on Lake Cypress Springs.

According to TPWD Captain Shawn Hervey, two game wardens responded to the scene at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday after a jet ski collision occurred. 

The crash happened when the first jet ski slowed down and turned in front of the second jet ski, which was following behind.

The operator of the first jet ski was identified as 18-year-old Johan Rasmussen from Denmark, with his passenger, Naja Thomsen, also from Denmark. Both were airlifted to Medical City Plano, though their condition has not been released. 

The second jet ski was driven by a juvenile, who was transported by ambulance to CHRISTUS Mother Frances in Sulphur Springs.

Hervey noted that the incident remains under investigation.
