Keiunche Thompsonporter Arrested after DUI Collision near Cole Canyon
ANAHEIM, CA (January 23, 2019) – Three people were injured early Wednesday morning following a wrong-way crash on 91 Freeway.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened near Cole Canyon, at about 3:00 AM. An eastbound 2017 Toyota Corolla was in the westbound lanes of the freeway when it struck a 2015 Kia Soul.
The unidentified Kia driver and two passengers were hospitalized with broken bones and other serious injuries such as internal bleeding. Further updates on their current medical conditions were not provided.
Meanwhile, the Toyota driver, identified as 25-year-old Keiunche Thompsonporter, was also hospitalized for medical evaluation. She was later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury, driving under the influence with a blood-alcohol level exceeding the legal limit of .08, and driving on the wrong way on a highway causing injury, with sentence-enhancing allegations for inflicting great bodily injury.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the events that led to the collision and to identify other possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
