Interstate 80 Crash Leaves Three Injuries, Suspect Faces Felony
Vacaville, CA (December 22, 2020) – Early Monday morning, three seriously injured after a solo vehicle crash on Interstate 80 at the Leisure Town Road off-ramp.
The Vacaville crash happened at 2:35 a.m. on December 21, following a high-speed police pursuit of a stolen vehicle.
California Highway Patrol-Solano said on a social media post that, at 2:35 a.m., area patrol units were notified of a stolen gray 2004 Honda Accord traveling eastbound on I-80.
Officers then located the Honda west of Airbase Parkway, in Fairfield, which prompted a pursuit when the driver refused to pull over with speeds reaching 130 mph.
When the Honda exited I-80 at the Leisure Town Road off-ramp, it collided with a concrete median barrier.
The extreme impact severely injured three of the occupants, including the driver. The other passenger sustained minor injuries.
More so, the officers found a loaded handgun, allegedly located on the driver of the Honda.
The handgun was taken and booked as evidence.
The investigation continues, and the post indicated felony charges would be filed with the Solano County District Attorney’s Office in Fairfield.
