3 Hurt in Santa Barbara Multiple Car Accidents
SANTA BARBARA, CA (March 1, 2019) – Three people sustained injuries in three separate collisions on February 28 near Gaviota rest stop area.
The incident stalled traffic on the southbound lanes of Highway 101.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department revealed that the units responded to the area at 7:12 a.m.
According to reports, the first collision happened about one mile south of Highway 1 and involved one vehicle. The two other collisions occurred after the first collision, within a half-mile of each other.
The Fire officials also revealed that the three separate collisions involved as many as six vehicles.
As a result of the collision, three people suffered injuries. An ambulance transported one person to the hospital. Meanwhile, the other two victims refused treatments.
The authorities issued a SigAlert for the area as one lane stayed blocked as of 8:10 a.m.
The California Highway Patrol is currently investigating the collision.
