3 Hurt in Kennewick Car Accident
KENNEWICK, WA (January 14, 2019) – Three people sustained injuries after a crash caused by a chase on January 12.
The collision which occurred on Highway 395 and Yelm Street is believed to be connected with a Friday night shooting in a Pasco apartment. Pasco police were in search for a man who was seen walking out of an apartment where a man was reportedly shot about 10:00 p.m.
Pasco police Officer Ben Boykin stated that they saw the suspect driving through Pasco at 4:00 p.m. and signaled for him to stop. However, the suspect with multiple warrants out for his arrest fled and drove south on the highway and across the blue bridge.
While officers ended the chase before he reached the intersection with Yelm Street, the driver still drove at a high speed and crashed into another car.
As a result, three people, including the suspect, were transported to Trios Southridge Hospital with injuries.
The intersection was shut down while the Washington State Patrol conducted an investigation. No other information has been released at this time.
