3 Hospitalized after Bakersfield Two-Vehicle Crash at Ashe Road and North Half Moon Drive

BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 15, 2019) — Three people suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash at Ashe Road and North Half Moon Drive Sunday morning.

The Bakersfield police said the incident occurred at around 11:46 a.m. Involved were a white Honda sedan and a gray Mitsubishi.

An investigation showed that the female driver of the Honda attempted to make a U-turn on southbound Ashe Road from the right shoulder of the road. At the same time, the Mitsubishi was also southbound on Ashe Road. It struck the Honda as it started to make the U-turn.

Emergency responders took the three occupants of the vehicles to a hospital. Two of them sustained moderate injuries, while the third one was in critical condition.

The police ruled out drugs and alcohol as possible causes of the collision. However, an investigation is ongoing. The officers encourage anyone with information on this incident to call (661) 327-7111.

When driving, it is important to always focus on the road and be aware of your surroundings. If you are crossing a busy intersection, activate your turn signal or blinker before making any turns. If you are turning in a road where there is no dedicated turn signal or lane, be patient and make sure there is no obstruction to your view. Drive defensively to ensure the safety of surrounding vehicles, drivers, and pedestrians.
