3 Hurt in Seattle Car Accident
SEATTLE, WA (December 27, 2018) – Three people sustained injuries in a car collision on Sylvan Way near the Delridge area of West Seattle on December 26.
According to reports, a driver drove across the center-line and crashed into an oncoming pickup truck. Drugs or alcohol are considered as a factor in the collision.
The officers and firefighters came to the scene at Sylvan Way near High Point Drive, at around 7:50 a.m. after reports of a two-vehicle accident.
Detective Mark Jamieson of the Seattle police revealed that two people were stuck inside the vehicle and were both freed through extrication. The 33-year-old female driver suffered serious injuries in the crash and was impaired. Meanwhile, the passenger sustained potentially life-threatening injuries. The two were taken to the hospital.
The 38-year-old male pickup driver suffered non-life threatening injuries.
According to a preliminary investigation, the driver of the car was traveling north in the 6700 block of Sylvan Way when she drove across the center-line and hit the front of the oncoming pickup truck, Jamieson added.
The female driver will be detained into the King County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault when she is released from the hospital.
Sylvan Way was shut down at the area for nearly four hours after the collision to give way for the cleanup and investigation.
