AMADOR COUNTY, CA (June 15, 2021) – Monday night, three people died in a suspected DUI crash on Highway 88 near Ione.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on Highway 88 near Ione in Amador County.
 
Reports revealed that the CHP chased a vehicle for crossing the double-yellow line. Then, it collided head-on with another vehicle.
 
Furthermore, officials confirmed that a passenger of the suspect vehicle and two people from the other vehicle died in the crash.
 
Moreover, the CHP officers chasing the suspect managed to extricate the driver from the vehicle before it totally caught fire.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the suspect to a hospital with serious injuries.
 
Also, officers believe that alcohol played a role in the crash.
