3 Killed and 2 Hospitalized in San Joaquin County Accident on Interstate 5 near Walnut Grove Road

 
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (March 24, 2021) – On Tuesday, three people died in a crash on Interstate 5 near Walnut Grove Road.
 
According to California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at around 2:30 a.m. Two officers have been assisting a disabled tractor-trailer on Interstate 5, south of Walnut Grove Road.
 
Then, a 2021 Subaru SUV veered towards the right side of the road and rear-ended the patrol vehicle. The force of the crash pushed the patrol vehicle down an embankment. Meanwhile, the Subaru crashed into a tree and started to catch fire.
 
Moreover, CHP confirmed that three occupants of the Subaru died in the crash.
 
Also, responders rushed two CHP officers to a local hospital with major injuries.
 
Meanwhile, it is still unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident.
 
The crash is under investigation.
