3 Injured in San Diego Pedestrian Accidents

SAN DIEGO, CA (March 10, 2020) – Three unidentified pedestrians were injured in three separate crashes on Sunday, March 8.

According to the police, the separate collisions occurred in the Colina Del Sol, Lincoln Park, and Mira Mesa areas. Dispatchers arrived shortly after receiving multiple 911 calls.

The first incident occurred shortly after 8:50 p.m., on 54th Street. Dispatchers arrived between El Cajon Boulevard and Trojan Avenue. A 64-year-old male pedestrian was struck by a southbound 1997 Honda Civic on 54th Street. The 61-year-old male driver reportedly attempted to veer before striking the pedestrian.

Medics eventually took the victim to a hospital where he received treatment for his broken right leg and non-life-threatening injuries. Meanwhile, the driver stayed on scene. Authorities also ruled out intoxication as a factor.

The second collision occurred when a hit-and-run driver struck a pedestrian around 9:10 p.m., on South Euclid near Imperial Avenue. Officers later stated that the white vehicle continued heading north on South Euclid Avenue after the crash.

The victim was transported to a hospital and received further treatment for her right femur fracture.

Lastly, the third crash occurred just before 9:30 p.m., on Mira Mesa Boulevard and Reagan Road. A 19-year-old woman was walking northbound against a red light. She was then struck by a 33-year-old man in a westbound 2015 Honda Accord who was driving through the green light.

Furthermore, authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved.

Unpredictable events on the roadway are all too common. In addition, it can be easy to become distracted when behind the wheel of a vehicle. To avoid dangerous collisions, always follow all traffic laws. By doing so, you can help keep yourself and others around you safe.
