Three People Dead after Head-On Crash on Interstate 5 near Country Road 57
WILLOWS, CA (August 23, 2019) – Three people lost their lives in a head-on crash on Interstate 5, early Friday morning. Authorities withheld the identities of the victims, pending notification of next of kin.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened at about 12:45 AM. Due to unknown reasons, a southbound 2007 Honda Accord crossed the center median and collided head-on with a northbound Ford F-550 truck. The force of the collision caused the Honda to split in half.
Unfortunately, the woman driving the Honda and her two female passengers died at the scene. Meanwhile, the Ford F-550 driver, identified as 42-year-old Aderik Boyd, did not sustain injuries in the crash.
The CHP continues to investigate the cause of the fatal collision. Authorities will release additional information once it becomes available.
