CHP Officer and 1 Person Injured, Suspect Arrested after Wrong-Way DUI Crash on Interstate 280 in Daly City

Daly City, CA (September 9, 2022) – Early Friday morning, a CHP officer and two others sustained injuries in a crash on Interstate 280.

The wrong-way crash in Daly City happened at around 4 a.m. on September 9.

CHP said they encountered the wrong-way vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed just north of Hickey Boulevard. They then intentionally placed the patrol vehicle in the path of the wrong-way driver. 

The collision resulted in injuries between a CHP officer, a citizen, and the wrong-way driver.

Following the suspect’s treatment, he will be booked at the San Mateo County Jail for charges that include felony DUI causing injury and felony driving the wrong way causing injury.
