Three Hospitalized after Multi-Car Crash near Lemon Avenue
LONG BEACH, CA (October 16, 2018) – Three people were hospitalized Tuesday afternoon following a three-vehicle collision on East Wardlow Road. The identities of the victim were not disclosed to the public.
According to officials with the Long Beach Fire Department, the incident took place at about 12:15 PM. A red Toyota Prius was heading south on Lemon Avenue when it collided with an eastbound gray Toyota Corolla.
The impact of the collision caused the Corolla to smash into a nearby fire hydrant and a light pole, while the Prius struck a parked gray Nissan. Both drivers and a passenger inside the Corolla were transported to local hospitals after complaints of pain. Further updates on their current medical conditions were not provided.
Witnesses reported that the driver of the Prius ran the stop sign at the intersection. An investigation is underway to verify the claim and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
