Injuries Reported in Pomona Multi-Vehicle Accident on 60 Freeway near Reservoir Street

 
POMONA, CA (July 27, 2021) – Monday, three people sustained injuries after a shooting incident ended in a crash on 60 Freeway near Reservoir Street.
 
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Rodrigo Jimenez, a westbound Infinity traveled on 60 Freeway.
 
Then, someone inside a vehicle next to the Infinity fired at least six gunshots. The Infinity driver was shot in the leg. Afterward, he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a center divider.
 
Furthermore, a vehicle behind the Infinity swerved to avoid the collision. However, the driver lost control and came into rest facing the wrong way. Also, a third vehicle collided head-on with the second vehicle.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the driver of the third vehicle, a man in his 50s, to a hospital with major injuries. Also, the passenger of the Infinity, a 22-year-old Compton man, fled the scene after the crash.
 
Later, the Pomona Police Department arrested the Compton man and took him to a hospital with injuries.
 
Moreover, the suspect vehicle was last seen heading west. Also, the authorities found a gun near the passenger side of the Infinity.
 
The crash remains under active investigation.
