3 People Airlifted after Victorville Rollover Crash on Palmdale Road
VICTORVILLE, CA (July 12, 2019) — Three people suffered critical injuries in a rollover crash on Palmdale Road in Victorville Wednesday night.
Authorities said the incident occurred in the 12600 block of Palmdale Road, east of Highway 395, at about 9:40 p.m. In addition, it involved a four-door sedan with three people in it.
The driver of the sedan reportedly lost control of the vehicle. The sedan subsequently crashed into a retaining block wall of an electric substation. As a result, it overturned before landing on its roof.
Reports from the scene indicated that the force of the crash ejected two people from the sedan. However, the female driver remained restrained in her seat.
The Victorville City firefighters who responded to the accident requested three medical helicopters to airlift the injured individuals. After that, they transported them to out-of-area trauma centers.
A video of the accident showed debris scattered across lanes. In addition, two people are seen lying in the lanes of traffic on Palmdale Road. Officials closed Palmdale Road between Cobalt Road and Cantina Street for several hours while they investigated. In addition, helicopters landed at the scene.
An update on the condition of the patients was not available as of Thursday morning.
