3 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Collision on Evans Road [Menifee, CA]

1 Hospitalized after Car Crash in Menifee

 
MENIFEE, CA (January 5, 2019) – On Friday morning, three people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Evans Road. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
 
According to the Menifee Police Department, the incident occurred around 7:30 AM near Newport Road.
 
As per reports, an SUV was traveling northbound on Evans Road just as the light was turning red, when a sedan driving east on Newport Road pulled forward on a green light and struck the SUV. Due to the impact of the collision, the SUV overturned and hit another vehicle who was stopped at a red light.
 
Riverside County Fire Department stated one victim was transferred to a nearby hospital for minor injuries and the two other drivers had complaints of pain but declined medical treatment at the scene. Their current medical condition is unclear at this time.
 
The surrounding area was closed off for a brief time for cleanup and preliminary investigation, but has since reopened. No further details have been released regarding the circumstances leading up to the incident at this time.
