3 Hurt in Ventura County Multi-Vehicle Collision on Pacific Coast Highway
VENTURA COUNTY, CA (October 9, 2019) – Three people sustained injuries in a multi-vehicle collision on Pacific Coast Highway.
The collision involving a big rig shut down some lanes of the coastal route on October 7. Authorities received reports of the crash shortly after 10:00 p.m. near Thornhill Broome Beach.
According to the responding firefighters and HP reports, a semi tractor-trailer landed on its side in the road. Meanwhile, a Jeep Rubicon and a Ford Ranger also landed on its side.
Firefighters revealed that three people suffered injuries. Responders transported two of them to Ventura County Medical Center with major injuries, according to CHP. Before 10:30 p.m., firefighters managed to free a person stuck in one of the vehicles.
The incident led CHP officials to close portions of the route while crews worked at the scene. CHP logs also revealed that the big rig didn’t spill fuel. The California Department of Transportation crews also came to the scene.
