3 Injured after Car Crashes into Building on East Washington Street [PETALUMA, CA]

Car Lands Inside Petaluma Starbucks on East Washington Street Injuring 3 People

 
PETALUMA, CA (November 15, 2019) – Three people were injured after a car drove into a building and struck them Friday morning in Petaluma.
 
The incident happened around 11:39 a.m., on East Washington Street near Wilson Street. Dispatchers arrived to the area shortly after.
 
According to reports, an unidentified woman was driving a light blue Honda Accord when she crashed into a nearby Starbucks. Officials found the car stopped halfway inside the building.
 
Three people inside the Starbucks at the time were struck by the vehicle. One of the victims suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. The two others sustained minor injuries and were treated on scene.
 
The female driver remained uninjured. She also later told police that she was speeding and made an unsafe lane change to avoid a collision. In doing so, she lost control of the vehicle and drove into the Starbucks.
 
Police are still currently investigating the incident. They said there is no evidence to suggest drugs or alcohol were involved. Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact Traffic Officer Mario Giomi at 707-778-4372.
