Bellingham, WA (December 31, 2020) – Wednesday evening, police investigate a crash on Orleans Street involving a Bellingham patrol vehicle.

The crash happened at 5:27 p.m. on December 30 at the intersection of Orleans and Alabama Street.

According to reports, a Bellingham patrol vehicle collided with a 2004 Honda CRV. Three people were then sent to St. Joseph hospital for precautionary measures.

Moreover, a picture tweeted by Bellingham Police shows that it appears the two vehicles struck each other in the left-front corners.

At this time, the cause of the crash is under investigation.

Meanwhile, on December 5, a Bellingham Police officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a DUI collision.

Further, the Herald has asked the Bellingham Police Department how many of its vehicles have been involved in collisions this year and how that compares to recent years.

No one wants to get involved in a car crash, therefore following traffic laws is vital. Car accidents are caused by an unlimited number of reasons, but a driver’s failure to be fully aware is a primary one. Always drive defensively. Be on the lookout for potential threats. Remember in doing so, you are keeping yourself and all those who surround you safe as well.

Above all, drive responsibly. However, if you see yourself unfit to drive, use a ride share app instead.
