3 Injured in Sacramento Multi-Car Crash on Highway 99
SACRAMENTO, CA (February 5, 2019) – A crash involving three vehicles sent three people to the hospital on Friday, February 1.
California Highway Patrol stated that the incident was believed to have started at about 2 a.m. when a vehicle crashed into the center divider near the 47th Avenue exit.
The crash caused a chain reaction, with three to four other cars colliding with each other.
At some point after the collisions, CHP said two people who went out of their cars were struck by passing vehicles.
Three people were transported to the hospital, two of them with major injuries.
Several lanes of Highway 99 were shut down through most of the early morning due to the incident. All lanes were reopened by 5 a.m.
