3 Hurt in Goodyear Bicycle Accident
GOODYEAR, AZ (September 13, 2019) – Three people sustained injuries in a bicycle accident near Cotton Lane on September 12.
A car struck several bicyclists next to the Amazon warehouse near Cotton Lane and Highway 85. According to the police, an eastbound car tried to turn into the warehouse and hit four bicyclists.
Responders transported three riders with non-life-threatening injuries.
David Herzog said, “We absolutely heard it. There were bikes breaking. It was a sad state of affairs.”
“Everybody was yelling, ‘hey, stop, stop!’ She just plowed into the middle of us,” Cheryl Herzog, a bicyclist who almost got hit. “She had this big huge gash on her head because her helmet cut into her head and it broke off, it was terrible.”
Meanwhile, the police suspect that the sun glare is a factor to the driver who didn’t see the cyclists.
The crash shut down Commerce Drive in both directions during the investigation.
