Vehicle Slams into Prosthetics Store near Heil Avenue
FOUNTAIN VALLEY, CA (October 25, 2018) – Three people were hospitalized after a car crashes into building on Harbor Boulevard, early Thursday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place at approximately 1:00 PM, near the intersection of Heil Avenue.
The incident occurred when a 71-year-old driver of a black Mercedes-Benz lost control of her vehicle and crashed through the storefront of F.V. Orthotics & Prosthetics.
The elderly woman was uninjured, but three people inside the building were taken to a hospital for treatment. Preliminary investigation showed that two of those victims were partially pinned between the car and a wall.
Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the collision. A witness told KTLA it looked like the female driver was trying to park when she accidentally lost control.
As per reports, employees from nearby businesses got out of their offices as a safety precaution until the building can be inspected for possible structural damage. No further details have been disclosed to the public, as an investigation is ongoing.
