Teenagers Hurt in Yuma Bicycle Accident on West 12th Street
YUMA, AZ (May 6, 2021) – Wednesday morning, three bicyclists sustained injuries after a hit-and-run crash on West 12th Street.
According to authorities, the incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. Apparently, a vehicle struck two 16-year-olds and an 18-year-old as they rode their bikes in the 1900 block of west 12th Street.
Furthermore, officials said that the suspect vehicle was traveling the same way as the teenagers at the time of the incident.
Moreover, responders pronounced the 18-year-old dead at the scene.
Also, paramedics transported one of the 16-year-old to a hospital via helicopter with serious injuries. Meanwhile, paramedics checked the other one and released the person with no injuries.
Meanwhile, officials confirmed that the suspect vehicle fled the scene after the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
