Bystander Injured in Martinez Fiery Auto Accident on Interstate 80 and Pomona Street
MARTINEZ, CA (November 24, 2021) – Late Tuesday night, authorities arrested three suspects after a pursuit crash on Interstate 80 and Pomona Street.
The authorities issued the first sig-alert at about 9:00 p.m. The authorities found a fully engulfed vehicle fire on Interstate 80, east of Pomona Street. Thus, the authorities advised motorists to expect delays and find alternate routes.
The incident began with a Contra Costa Sheriff’s pursuit. Then, it ended when the suspects crashed with an innocent driver. Both vehicles caught fire which blocked lanes for hours on the Carquinez Bridge.
According to reports, a bystander sustained minor injuries. Meanwhile, the police arrested 3 suspects.
Then, by 9:53 p.m., two lanes have reopened.
Meanwhile, at around 10:30 p.m., officers used a sig-alert indicating 3 lanes were reopened, and only one lane was blocked.
Furthermore, by 10:50 p.m., all lanes have reopened.
