Two Transported in Phoenix Wrong-Way Crash
Phoenix, AZ (March 6, 2024) – Two people sustained injuries following a DUI crash on State Route 143 Tuesday.
The head-on collision happened past midnight near Loop 202.
Officers said a 60-year-old woman was traveling north in the southbound lanes of SR 143 and struck a southbound vehicle.
Each vehicle was only occupied by a single person at the time of the accident.
Right away, the rescuers rushed the wrong-way driver to a hospital with minor injuries. The victim, a 29-year-old man, was taken for life-threatening injuries.
Police said the wrong-way driver will face charges of aggravated DUI, aggravated assault, and more, once the hospital released her.
