1 Dead in Fresno Pedestrian Accident on Ashby Road

 
FRESNO, CA (January 17, 2020) – A 25-year-old woman died after a vehicle struck her on Ashby Road in north Merced.
 
According to officials, the incident occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on Ashby Road and Fern Street.
 
The driver revealed that he traveled at around 35 miles per hour and didn’t notice the woman standing in the road.
 
The authorities pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The detectives are still trying to find out why the woman stood in the road.
 
As a result of the crash, the CHP shut down the street during the investigation but the road has since reopened.
