Children Airlifted in Fatal Collision on Highway 17
Houston, MO (October 17], 2024) – Helen Drury, 25, Tommy Federico, 23, and a five-year-old girl, all from Roby, were killed in a vehicle collision on Missouri 17 Tuesday afternoon.
It was about 1:30 p.m. when the fatal crash happened ten miles north of Houston.
Investigators determined a car driven by Tommy Federico ran off from the highway. It managed to return but skidded into the path of a pickup truck. Both vehicles overturned.
Tommy Federico, Helen Drury, and a five-year-old girl died in the collision.
A three-year-old girl in the car incurred serious injuries and was airlifted to a children’s hospital in Kansas City, while a one-year-old boy was airlifted to a Columbia hospital with moderate injuries.
The pickup truck driver, who is from Houston, was uninjured.
