Dozens Hospitalized after Bus Flips Over near 110 Freeway in Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA)
LOS ANGELES, CA (July 14, 2018) – More than two dozen people were injured early Saturday morning following a rollover crash on 10 Freeway.
As per reports, the incident took place shortly before 4:00 AM near the 110 Freeway interchange. A 2000 Van Hool bus, occupied by 32 adult passengers, was on its way to Koreatown from the Pala Casino when it hit several sand-filled attenuators, flipped over, and landed on its side.
A total of 25 passengers – 4 in serious condition, 5 in fair condition, and 16 in good condition – were being treated in area hospitals. The remaining passengers walked from the bus and refused hospitalization.
Authorities confirmed that the bus was operated by QH Express, based in Rosemead. The driver of the bus, 53-year-old Dack Lew, was questioned but was not arrested. Alcohol and drugs were ruled out as possible contributing factors in the crash, but an investigation is ongoing to determine the reason why the bus lost control.
No additional information has been released to the public at this time.
