1 Dead in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident on South Street and Cerritos Avenue

 
LONG BEACH, CA (September 29, 2020) – Sunday, a 24-year-old man died in a pedestrian crash on South Street and Cerritos Avenue in Long Beach.
 
According to reports, the pedestrian walk across South Street and Cerritos Avenue diagonally. However, stopped in the middle of the westbound South Street while waiting for eastbound traffic to clear.
 
As the pedestrian stood in the road, a 2011 Toyota Camry hit him, followed by a westbound 2005 Nissan Quest. The police confirmed that both drivers failed to see him.
 
The officers responded to the scene at around 7:15 p.m. Meanwhile, both drivers stayed at the scene and helped with the investigation.
 
Furthermore, medical responders transported the pedestrian to an area hospital. However, he later succumbed to his injuries. On the other hand, the authorities do not believe that distracted driving or impaired driving played a role in the crash.
