Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Car while Walking in the Rain on Highway 168 in Fresno
FRESNO, CA (December 14, 2019) – A 23-year-old Clovis man was killed after being struck by a car early Saturday morning two weeks ago in Fresno.
The fatal incident happened around 1:31 a.m. in the westbound lane of Highway 168 at Ashlan Avenue.
According to the CHP, the man wearing a dark clothing was walking in the rain when a 2020 Hyundai Elantra struck him. The driver of the car, a 25-year-old woman, who was traveling at approximately 60 mph did not see the pedestrian before she hit him with the front of her car.
The victim died at the scene, the CHP said. He has not yet been identified.
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
