22-Year-Old Driver Arrested in Fatal DUI Collision on 45th Street
Seattle, WA (May 25, 2022) On Tuesday, 22-year-old Jordan Shelley died in a DUI Collision on southbound Interstate 5.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the fatal 2-vehicle collision happened at around 4:40 a.m. south of Northeast 45th Street.
Reports say that the Mazda driven by Shelley had broken down at the bridge when a Toyota struck the prone vehicle. Consequently, the impact caused Shelley to be propelled off the bridge and fall into the water.
Furthermore, the force of the collision caused both cars to overturn.
Officials arrested the 22-year-old Toyota driver on suspicion of DUI.
Meanwhile, the Seattle Fire Department searched around docks and under the bridge for the victim.
Seattle police say that rescuers found Shelley’s body around 9 in the morning.
