Chevy Driver Arrested in Read-End Crash on Highway 22
Garden Grove, CA (December 5, 2022) On Sunday evening, a DUI collision on the westbound 22 Freeway seriously injured a CHP officer.
CHP says that at about 8:45 p.m. a Chevy Tahoe struck the back of the CHP patrol car. The officer stopped to assist a white Porsche Cayenne that had a mechanical problem.
Reports say that Chevy struck the cruiser, then the impact of the collision forced the vehicle to hit the Porsche.
Officials say that the crash trapped the officer inside his vehicle, and both the occupants of the SUV sustained injuries.
Rescuers used the jaws of life to extricate the trapped officer. Afterward, paramedics transported the officer to the University of California, Irvine Medical Center with unknown injuries.
Meanwhile, it is not clear if the 2 other victims were transported to the hospital as well.
Furthermore, authorities arrested the Chevy driver who failed a field sobriety test.
