21-Year-Old Female Victim Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Accident West of Oak Hills Drive in Prunedale
Prunedale, CA (May 10, 2020) – On Saturday night, a woman died and Jonathan Young was involved in a semi-truck collision on Highway 156.
According to CHP and Monterey County Sheriff reports, the accident occurred just west of Oak Hills Drive around 11:00 p.m.
When authorities arrived, they found an overturned 2016 Dodge Dart that apparently drifted into oncoming traffic. Subsequently, the Dodge collided head-on with a semi-truck.
While the victim’s name is not yet known, authorities report that she was a 21-year-old Grover Beach resident.
The driver of the semi truck, identified as Jonathan Young, 45, a Live Oak resident, remained uninjured from the incident.
Police shut down traffic in the area for the remainder of the investigation. However, the highway re-opened a few hours later, in both directions of traffic.
At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident. Regardless, the investigation continues, and more information on the accident will be released soon.
