Skateboarding Youth Killed in Mendocino Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 1
MENDOCINO, CA (July 22, 2019) – A hit-and-run collision on Highway 1 took the life of a 21-year-old on Thursday, July 18.
The identity of the victim, who was a Mendocino resident, had not been released on Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 10:50 p.m. on Highway 1 at Little Lake Road.
The Initial investigation determined that a vehicle traveling north on the highway at an unknown speed struck the young skateboarder in the northbound lane. The accident occurred while the youth skateboarded across the highway.
The driver fled the area in their vehicle. The CHP did not report if anyone has described the driver and/or vehicle involved.
