Vanowen Street Vehicle Collision Kills Lexus Driver Nelson Castaneda
Canoga Park, CA (June 28, 2022) – On Tuesday, before 12:15 a.m., 20-year-old Nelson Castaneda, died in a hit-and-run crash on De Soto Avenue.
According to the investigators, a black southbound Dodge Ram ran a red light while traveling at speeds around 80 miles per hour.
The vehicle collided with a gold westbound Lexus IS 350 along Vanowen Street.
Sadly, Nelson Castaneda, the Lexus driver, died at the scene.

Moreover, the suspect’s vehicle also rolled several times and the driver exited the vehicle, then walked southbound down De Soto Avenue.
Reports say the suspect is a male suspect in his 20s and wearing dark clothing.

Our Attorneys Can Help the Bereaved
Washington’s road accident rate continues to increase, rather than decrease, despite the additional safety features on newer vehicle models.
The increasing crash rate reflects that auto accidents are becoming rampant. Incidents like the Vanowen Street vehicle collision are a leading cause of death for individuals ages 5-64.
As a matter of fact, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), two out of three motorists will be involved in an injury accident during their life.
