Bloomington Man in Critical Condition after Being Struck by Car near San Bernardino Avenue
FONTANA, CA (November 15, 2018) – A Bloomington man was injured Thursday morning following a pedestrian crash on Elm Avenue. The identity of the 20-year-old victim was not disclosed to the public.
According to the Fontana Police Department, the incident happened at approximately 6:02 AM near San Bernardino Avenue. Preliminary investigation showed that a man exited his parked car and crossed the street outside of the marked crosswalk.
A 25-year-old Rancho Cucamonga man driving a Toyota Camry in the northbound lanes, did not see the pedestrian and was unable to avoid the collision.
The victim sustained major head trauma and was transported to a local hospital, where he is listed in critical condition. Further updates on his current medical condition were not immediately provided. Meanwhile, the Toyota driver remained at the scene and cooperated with officials.
An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the crash and to identify possible contributing factors. Additional information will be released once it becomes available.
