20-Year-Old Janet Corona Dies in 118 Freeway Traffic Crash [Mission Hills, CA]

Mission Hills, CA (April 03, 2022) On Saturday, 20-year-old Janet Corona of Sylmar died in a traffic collision on the 118 Freeway.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) says that the fatal crash between Corona and a 23-year-old Huntington Park woman happened at about 7:15 a.m. from the westbound Ronald Reagan Freeway to the southbound San Diego Freeway.

Moreover, Corona was driving a 2003 Toyota when she lost control of her car and collided head-on with a 2014 Lexus.

Rescuers took Corona to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Meanwhile, the Lexus driver sustained injuries and remained at the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, a white van may have caused one of the female drivers to lose control of the vehicle.

Authorities are seeking the van driver and considered them a “person of interest.”

Officials are still conducting an investigation and have not released further information.
