Man Critical after Minivan Crash on North Ninth Street in Modesto

 
Modesto, CA (November 27, 2020) – Thursday night, a 20-year-old man is in critical condition after his car crashed into a minivan on North Ninth Street.
 
Modesto Police said the man was driving a Volkswagen Jetta north on Ninth when it collided with the minivan, making an eastbound turn onto Coldwell Avenue from southbound Ninth.
 
Investigators believed one of the vehicles ran a red light but said further investigation is needed before releasing which one.
 
Meanwhile, the Jetta driver’s leg was pinned by the crushed dashboard, and it took 30 minutes to get him out. He remained hospitalized in critical condition Friday.
 
Police have yet to release his identity.
