Phoenix, AZ (July 26, 2024) – On Friday, 2 women died in a fiery crash on 35th and Sweetwater Avenues.

Phoenix police received a call about the crash near 35th and Sweetwater Avenues around 6 a.m.

First responders arrived to find a vehicle that had collided with a power pole and was on fire.

A woman was discovered outside the vehicle and transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, but she later died.

A second woman was found inside the vehicle after the fire was extinguished and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police stated that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it veered off the road and struck the power pole.

The victims have not yet been identified.
