2 Hurt in Los Alamos Car Accident on Highway 101

 
LOS ALAMOS, CA (July 16, 2019) – Two women sustained injuries in an accident on Highway 101 on July 15.
 
The Santa Barbara County firefighters came to the scene after reports of a vehicle accident on Highway 101 southbound, just south of Palmer Road at 8:45 a.m. However, they found an overturned Mini Copper that hit a tree on the right side of the southbound lane.
 
Firefighters extricated two female occupants. After that, the driver sustained moderate injuries and went to Marian Regional Medical Hospital via ambulance. However, a helicopter airlifted the female passenger with major injuries to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital.
 
The incident closed northbound and southbound lanes while the helicopter landed. The collision also stalled the traffic in the area.
 
CHP is currently investigating the crash.
