Driver Arrested After DUI Crash on State Park Drive in Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz, CA (September 13, 2024) – On Monday evening, a driver was arrested after a DUI crash on State Park Drive.

CHP Santa Cruz reported two arrests for driving under the influence this past week. 

The first incident occurred Monday evening following a crash at the State Park Drive off-ramp from northbound Highway 1. 

According to CHP, a two-vehicle collision caused minor injuries. The driver responsible fled the scene, but later crashed into a tree near the northbound on-ramp to Highway 1. 

The driver was arrested for felony DUI and hit-and-run, causing injury.

The second arrest happened Tuesday evening when another driver crashed into a fire hydrant on 14th Avenue near East Cliff Drive. 

The driver attempted to continue driving with the hydrant lodged underneath their vehicle and was also arrested for DUI.
