WSP Arrests Hit-and-Run Driver in I-5 Traffic Collision
Everett, WA (September 30, 2023) On Thursday evening, a 2-vehicle crash on Interstate 5 led to 2 people getting hurt.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the hit-and-run crash happened at about 8 p.m. on I-5 south of the Boeing Freeway.
Reports say that a northbound Chevy Colorado, driven by a 33-year-old Maple Falls resident, crossed into the opposite lane, and struck a Toyota RAV4, driven by a 36-year-old Marysville resident.
The impact of the collision sent the Chevy rolling over and ended up in the middle of the freeway lanes.
Officials say that the Chevy driver fled on foot, and was found an hour later at a nearby Burger King. Authorities arrested the driver for investigation of driving under the influence and hit and run of an attended vehicle.
Both drivers were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities say that the suspect driver was detained in the Snohomish County Jail on Friday.
Observe Traffic Rules
It is crucial to follow all driving laws and observe the conditions of the road when driving. If you see any vehicle or driver that looks dangerous, keep your distance. If you see a vehicle weaving in and out of the lanes, following too closely, or traveling at a higher rate of speed, move over a few lanes and get out of their way.
Drive defensively to ensure the safety of surrounding vehicles, drivers, and pedestrians.
