CHP Investigates 2-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 in Pismo Beach

Pismo Beach, CA (June 2, 2024) – On Thursday afternoon, CHP is investigating a 2-sedan crash on Highway 101.

According to CHP’s traffic incident report page, two sedans crashed around 4:27 p.m., ending up in the divide between north and southbound lanes. 

Shortly afterward, a third vehicle joined the collision. By 4:28 p.m., parties were seen getting out of the vehicles.

Emergency scanner traffic reported minor head injuries, and an ambulance was en route by 4:35 p.m. Southbound traffic backed up as far north as the Avila Beach Drive exit, causing standstill traffic jams throughout the coastal highway stretch. 

Despite the crash occurring on the southbound side, northbound traffic also slowed in the area, as noted by Caltrans’ QuickMap. 

The Five Cities Fire Authority was called for assistance around 4:40 p.m., and tow trucks were dispatched around 4:30 p.m.
