Two Teens Seriously Injured in Fiery Car Crash on Interstate 80 in Truckee

 
Truckee, CA (September 4, 2020) – Thursday night, a 14-year-old driver and his 15-year-old passenger sustained severe injuries in a fiery car crash on Interstate 80 near Donner Pass Road.
 
The incident happened on Thursday, September 3.
 
The CHP said the 14-year-old was driving a 2017 Maserati eastbound on Interstate 80 near Donner Pass Road when he lost control of the car. The teen was reportedly driving over 100 mph.
 
“The vehicle then slammed into the guardrail south of the highway. The guardrail went through the right-front passenger door, and the car “rapidly caught on fire,” CHP added.
 
The two occupants escape the burning car but sustained severe burns and airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center. The 15-year-old passenger also suffered internal injuries.
 
Moreover, alcohol and drugs are not considered a factor in the accident.
