Balcony Collapses after Serious Accident near 26th Avenue
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (October 27, 2018) – Two people were seriously injured in a building accident on Lawton Street, early Saturday morning. The names and place of residence of the victims have not been released at this time.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision took place around 12:06 AM, near 26th Avenue. Reports show that the injured women were standing on the building along with two other people when for unknown reasons the third-floor balcony suddenly collapsed.
According to the San Francisco Department of Building Inspection, the two men managed to save themselves from falling, but the two female women hit the ground below.
Fire officials said the victims were taken to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment of injuries and were later listed in stable condition.
City building inspectors were called to investigate the balcony failure. No additional information has been released as of report time, as the investigation continues.
