The wrong-way driver collided head-on with the sergeant’s patrol vehicle on Highway 51 and Indian School Road around 1:48 a.m. Reports revealed that the wrong-way driver traveled south in the northbound lanes.

The crash left debris that hit the other officer’s vehicle driving behind the sergeant’s vehicle.

Meanwhile, the 27-year-old wrong-way driver in a 2018 Chevrolet Corvette also required hospitalization. However, he suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Authorities believed that impairment played a role in the collision.
