3 Hurt in Phoenix Car Crash
PHOENIX, AZ (November 5, 2019) – Two police officers and a wrong-way driver sustained injuries in a car crash on Highway 51 November 4.
The wrong-way driver collided head-on with the sergeant’s patrol vehicle on Highway 51 and Indian School Road around 1:48 a.m. Reports revealed that the wrong-way driver traveled south in the northbound lanes.
The crash left debris that hit the other officer’s vehicle driving behind the sergeant’s vehicle.
The Tempe police sergeant and the other officer sustained injuries and went to a local hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old wrong-way driver in a 2018 Chevrolet Corvette also required hospitalization. However, he suffered non life-threatening injuries.
Authorities believed that impairment played a role in the collision.
