RICHARDSON, TX (February 20, 2023) – Saturday, two police officers suffered injuries in an auto accident on 2200 North Central Expressway.
 
The incident happened at around 3:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of North Central Expressway.
 
According to reports, a police Chevrolet Tahoe had stopped behind the disabled car with emergency lights activated. They pulled over in the left center lane of the highway.
 
Reports said that one officer remained seated in the police Tahoe. Meanwhile, the other officer was standing next to the disabled vehicle, speaking with the driver.
 
Then, an approaching vehicle hit the police car and the officer standing next to the disabled vehicle.
 
As a result, responders took both officers to the hospital for their injuries, and are expected to recover.
 
Meanwhile, responders transported the driver that struck the officers to the hospital with minor injuries.
 
Also, the driver of the disabled vehicle suffered no injuries in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, the authorities do not believe that alcohol played a role in the crash.
