Driver Still At Large after Oakland Accident on 12th Street and Castro Street
OAKLAND, CA (September 17, 2020) – Wednesday morning, two police officers were hurt in a crash on 12th Street and Castro Street.
According to reports, at around 7:17 a.m., the two officers responded after receiving a report that had crashed into a tree. When they arrived on 12th Street and Castro Street, the driver seemed unresponsive.
Meanwhile, the officers located the driver who appeared to be asleep.
As they helped the driver, he woke up, started his car, and put the vehicle in reverse. As a result, he knocked down both officers and dragged one for more than 10 feet, Officer Johnna Watson revealed.
Reports revealed that the vehicle headed north on Castro Street. However, the police didn’t disclose any description of the vehicle or the driver.
The authorities are still looking for the driver and the vehicle. Moreover, Watson encouraged the driver to turn to the police.
