42-year-old Woman and 63-year-old Man Hospitalized after Apple Valley Accident on Apple Valley Road
APPLE VALLEY, CA (May 24, 2020) – Early Wednesday afternoon, two people were trapped and injured in a crash on Apple Valley Road.
The responding firefighters used the jaws of life to free the two people inside a vehicle that has crashed into the Apple Valley Post Acute Care Center.
According to the police reports, the incident occurred on May 20 at around 1:11 p.m. in the 14900 block of Apple Valley Road.
When the firefighters from the Apple Valley Fire Protection District came, they found a dark-blue vehicle with major damage after crashing into the exterior of the building.
Meanwhile, reports revealed that a 42-year-old female driver and her 63-year-old male passenger were both pinned inside the vehicle. Moreover, the two occupants required extrication.
Moreover, the police dispatched a medical helicopter to land at St. Mary’s hospital. Upon arrival, the helicopter transported the female driver to an out of area trauma center as a precaution. Furthermore, the police confirmed that the male passenger sustained only minor injuries.
On the other hand, a witness told the authorities that the driver was leaving a Target parking lot when she suffered from a medical emergency. As a result, the woman then traveled across Apple Valley Road and halted after the crash.
Also, the Apple Valley Building Safety came to the scene to evaluate the damages and the integrity of the structure. The police also stated that the occupants of the building were uninjured during the time of the crash.
The Apple Valley Police Department is currently handling the investigation.
