2 Dead in Hercules Pedestrian Crash on Interstate 80 and Willow Avenue

 
HERCULES, CA (October 25, 2020) – Friday night, two people died in a pedestrian accident on Interstate 80 and Willow Avenue.
 
The authorities responded at 8:19 p.m. on Interstate 80, west of Willow Avenue.
 
According to reports, a vehicle veered into the center median of Interstate 80. Then, a flat tire caused a chain-reaction accident on the westbound highway’s fast lane.
 
The incident killed a 35-year-old San Leandro woman and a man.
 
At this time, the authorities haven’t identified both victims.
 
Apparently, the Accord stopped in the leftmost lane of the highway. Thus, another vehicle stopped behind it and led to several rear-end crashes from other oncoming vehicles.
 
No one sustained injuries in the chain-reaction crash. However after the drivers left their vehicles to exchange information, a blue Toyota Camry driving in the leftmost lane veered into the center median to avoid the stopped vehicles. However, he hit multiple people.
 
The San Leandro woman was “catapulted into the eastbound lanes of I-80 and subsequently hit” by oncoming vehicles. Meanwhile, the man was also hit and he landed in the center median. Both of them were confirmed dead at the scene.
 
A helicopter and ambulance transported some injured parties to the hospital.
 
Also, the authorities do not believe that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash.
